Smc - System management controller

On Laptops CTRL Shift OPTION then press the Power button for 2 seconds. The computer should not turn on, but reboot twice. On Desktops, Shut the computer down for 15 seconds, unplug, plug back in wait 5 seconds, then turn on. Press and Relese the Power Button. The computer will restart until you release the key combination. Let it reboot about 3 times.

Resetting The NVRAM (pram)

Press and hold the Command, Option, P and R Keys

Starting In Safe Mode

Hold the Shift key and Power on

Starting in Verbose Mode

Turn off Machine Hold the Command and V keys then power on.

Starting in Recovery

make sure machine is turned off Hold down the Command and R keys then power on. You can reset password from Revovery mode. Open terminal in recovery mode, Type 'resetpassword'
